OKBet Sports: Malixi Dominates Langer Field

Rianne Malixi, a veteran amateur golfer, has been pegged as the player to beat in the P750,000 ICTSI Riviera Championship of the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour, which will begin on Tuesday at the Langer layout.

Malixi intends to triumph over essentially the same professional field that she left behind and scoffing at her accomplishments one month ago.

Malixi will be returning to the site of one of her most significant victories when she competes on the local tour this season. When she was only 12 years old, Malixi edged out Abby Arevalo in a playoff to win the Philippine National Stroke Play crown in 2020. Malixi is currently pursuing her third win in as many starts on the local tour this season.

Malixi, who will be using this tournament to prepare for a series of events in Thailand, including the junior world championship from October 27 to October 30, said, “I have fond memories of this course, so I’m confident playing this course.” The junior world championship will take place from October 27 to October 30.

She said that a week at Langer would definitively tell her where she stood in terms of preparation for Thailand.

At Valley in Antipolo City a month ago, Malixi annihilated a pursuing professional field by 13 shots, and that slim field, which was led by the multiple-titled Chihiro Ikeda, will have its work cut out for it in the 54-hole championship.

Ikeda, the new leader of the Order of Merit, was interviewed by the Inquirer prior to the start of practice on Saturday at Manila Southwoods. He stated, “I have no expectations.” “We’ll see. It is going to be a very challenging course, and anything could end up happening.

Mafy Singson, another touted amateur, is also set to make another start and shoot for a second win on the local ladies tour. Other notable professionals in the field include Sunshine Baraquiel and Harmie Constantino.

The Singha Thailand Amateur Open will take place from October 18 to October 21 in Bangkok, and the Women’s Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship will take place from November 3 to November 6 in Chonburi, Thailand. Malixi is also scheduled to compete in both of these events.
